Through All The Changing Scenes Of Life

  1. Through All The Changing Scenes Of Life -:-- / -:--

This hymn first appeared in a collection of metrical Psalms published by Tate and Brady in 1696. Although many of the hymns are still used today (As Pants The Hart, Jesus Christ Is Risen Today and Whilst Shepherds Watched), James Montgomery  (who wrote Hail To The Lord’s Anointed) said of the collection “None of the “Metrical Psalms” are to be compared with the Psalms of the Prayer Book Psalter, and very few of them are worthy a place in a collection of hymns.”

Nicholas Brady served out his days as a priest in Clapham and Richmond; despite becoming Poet Laureate in 1692, Nahum Tate died in poverty, hiding from his creditors in Southwark.
