Let All Mortal Flesh Keep Silence

  1. Let All Mortal Flesh Keep Silence -:-- / -:--

Some folks use the tune Picardy for the the hymn Sing My Tongue The Glorious Battle by Bishop Venantius Forunatus, so in the descant verse I have set the words of the doxology, which end his hymn, in brackets underneath those of Let All Mortal Flesh Keep Silence from the Liturgy of St.James. The Tune Picardy in combination with either makes for stupendous hymnody! The Gnu nearly hernia-ed himself playing this one. Since the hymn melody is in unison for all the other verses I haven’t bothered putting their words under the melody.

There will be a rather fuzzy recording of this hymn on a forth coming Gnu Christmas Album (GNU 007) but I thought you might like to hear the parts, full blast, more clearly. The Gnu tightened his trousers to sing the descant for you.
