Psalm 5 (Give Heed to Me)

Give heed to me O Lord my God, give ear to all my sighs.
To you I look alone O God, to you alone I cry.
When morning breaks you hear my voice; I offer sacrifice.
My prayer I raise to you, O God; in mercy, Lord, reply.

In sin you take no pleasure Lord, in evil no delight.
You sojourn not with wickedness, you shun, despise all lies.
The boastful man can never stand before your presence Lord.
Deceitful and blood-thirsty men, the Lord of Hosts abhors.

But through your great and steadfast Love I come before you now;
In reverence, bow before Your throne and worship You on high.
Lord, lead me in your righteous way, Your path to me make plain.
Protect me from my enemies, lest I should live in vain.
